Diatomaceous Earth for Ticks When discussing tick control and tick treatment, it's common for many of us to divert our attention away, reluctant to confront the potential horrors of a tick infestation. Simply put, these bloodsucking parasitic arachnids can turn the warm season into a dreadful experience for many. The current market offers various products that claim to be effective at keeping ticks at bay, yet some are so toxic that allowing dogs and cats or children to play around them becomes a risky proposition. Certain insecticides in powdered form, while designed to eliminate ticks, pose a threat to the well-being of your loved ones if not handled with extreme care. As spring approaches, it becomes crucial to equip yourselves with the right information to repel and prevent ticks from infiltrating your home and the surrounding areas, all without resorting to the use of insecticidal poisons. This knowledge is particularly essential in areas with tall grasses and brushes where ticks often lurk, emphasizing the need for a safe and effective tick control strategy. Choose crawling insect control diatomaceous earth for flea and tick treatment, for a safe and effective weapon against ticks. Diatomaceous earth kills fleas, ticks, and other crawling insects, including ants, by dehydrating insects to death. The sharp edges in DE will polish away the waxy coating of any insect after it crawls through it. Over time the waxy coating is compromised and the body fluids are sucked out causing the tick to dehydrate and die. Diatomaceous earth DE is one of the best natural remedies for pest control and is a natural flea and tick control, even in small amounts. How to Identify a Tick Ticks are roughly the size of a sunflower seed and have 8 legs they use to crawl and hang on fur or clothing. Some say they resemble a small spider with a fat body. Ticks are arachnids so that makes sense. Some are brown, some are red, and some are all black just depending on the area or state you are currently in. Wooded areas, brush, lawns, shelter belts, are all places where ticks can hide waiting to start leaching blood from animals or humans. What do Tick Bites Look and Feel like? Tick bites are commonly not dangerous and leave just a simple red puncture mark where they were attached to your skin. However, some people and pets are allergic to the bite and some ticks even carry harmful diseases that could be life threatening if not treated properly. In most common cases you will have a red mark and little irritation where the tick bit you. Give your body time to heal and it will gone in no time. When a person has an allergic reaction to the bite they will experience pain, burning, and swelling at the site. Other symptoms may include a rash or blisters at the site and in some severe cases, shortness of breath. Tick Behavior & Life Cycle Ticks are found all over the United States. Of the many tick species, many live in the wild, feeding only on animals. Some common species inhabit our homes and feed on us and our pets. The tick life cycle consists of four stages. Tick adults lay eggs. Newly-hatched ticks, known as larvae, grow into nymphs and later become adult ticks. Larvae, nymphs, and adult females all feed on blood. If a host is infected with a tick-borne disease, it can infect the tick, which may pass the disease to its next host. How to Apply Diatomaceous Earth For Ticks Most tick infestations start in your home when a tick attaches themselves to a pet or yourself. Ticks then either attach themselves to your skin or they may fall off and slowly scurry to a hiding place. As of late, a disease called Lyme has made its way into mainstream news and deer ticks and other ticks are known to carry this debilitating disease. Many of us have a large tick population in our yards and it’s troublesome to send your kids or pets outside anymore. Who wants 15 ticks on your dog after spending an hour outside? Nobody, and the fact that those ticks can get into the house, yuck! Really, there is no way to rid every tick from your yard. They are so invasive that you would have to make it look like a bakery exploded in your yard by applying diatomaceous earth for ticks to every square inch or you could simply remove the foliage and grass completely. Both of those options are not practical so we will give you some tips and tricks when using diatomaceous earth to rid ticks from your yard. We highly recommend our crawling insect control bundles . Lets take a look at how to apply this natural solution for ticks to help with protecting your pets! Indoor Application Instructions Step 1: Cleanliness is the most important step here and needs to happen before you apply diatomaceous earth. These little bloodsuckers can hide in furniture, stored clothes, rugs, drapes, for very long periods of time. So get out your vacuum and start vacuuming your furniture, fabrics, rugs, and wash all clothes on the highest heat setting possible and dry on the highest heat setting when you can. This method sucks up many ticks hidden there. Going that extra mile by moving furniture and appliances to get to those places is a must! This cleaning again is essential in your battle to rid them! Step 2: We recommend you apply your diatomaceous earth for ticks to where the carpet or flooring meets the baseboard or wall. We also suggest that you apply to entryways to your home like window and door frames. Apply to and in furniture, rugs, fabrics, and drapes. Please apply in a light and visible fashion and in a dry area. Step 3: Leave application down on those locations for 7 days and then vacuum the application up. Please note that a shop vac will work better as a normal vacuum may become troublesome if you vacuum too much at once. Wash the drapes or fabrics that you can again. Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 until the problems gone! *Please note that diatomaceous earth can be used in conjunction with essential oils like oregano oil, thyme and citronella, and clove bud .* Outdoor Application Instructions Step 1: Ticks hitch a ride with animals and rodents so be sure to mark locations where you may have seen rodents or animals like deer, rabbits, or squirrels. These locations could be buildings next to your home, groups of trees, piles of wood, compost piles, sheds, barns, unattached garage, and anything else you built around your home. You may want to clean these areas if they have any debris. If you find holes or indentations in the ground, fill them back in. Level them off with your yard grounds. Like you see below, unstack and restack your wood to free any ticks in the woodpile. Step 2: Leaf litter you find during the beginning is a hot spot for tick activity and let me tell you, they love to hang out at this location. Be sure you rake up all that dead leaf material and dispose of it well away from your home and yard. Keep the ticks from mating and increasing the population. Keep your grass cut and trim those hedge bushes to keep them away from there also. Step 3: According to the CDC, it is very wise to form a 3-foot wide barrier of wood chips or gravel between lawns and wooded areas (Groups of trees) to diminish tick migration into your area. Be sure to cut your lawn regularly and keep any swing sets, decks, or patios as far away from the edge of the trees or wooded area as possible. At least 8 feet away! Construct a fence around your property to keep out unwanted rodents from populating in your yard and increasing tick populations. Also clean trash, compost piles, and undisturbed areas. Keep rodents from nesting and giving you a tick headache! Step 4: Be sure to apply diatomaceous earth for ticks to the outside foundation of your home, any unattached buildings, and around wood piles, compost piles, and anything that is considered clutter that you are not able to move off your property. Apply a light and visible application to your pets fur coat and skin is a wise idea also. Do this 1-2 times a month during tick season and every time a rain washes the application away. It is white in color and is 100% pure without any additives or chemicals. How to Identify a Fungus Gnat Fungus Gnats resemble soft bodied mosquitos with long legs that are dark in color when adults. Fungus Gnats increase in population around the warmer seasons as they are born in the potting soil purchased by consumers. Adults fungus gnats have wings that are in a Y-shape. They tend to hop when on soil or on plants as they are weak fliers. Fungus gnat larvae are 8mm in length and are transparent with a tell tale shiny black head on them. Best way to know for sure if you have fungus gnats is to set up sticky traps that you can find here at arbico organics. Life Cycle & Behavior of Fungus Gnats The Life Cycle and behavior of fungus gnats comes down to 4 parts. These parts start as an egg in the soil, larvae, pupa, and finally the adult that starts the life cycle over by laying eggs in the soil. Please note, all these stages of a fungus gnat love moist soil. The larvae does the majority of the damage as they stay under the soil to feed on fungi, roots, and root hairs. This causes a systemic reaction with the potted plant and with dwindle its health. Each part of the life cycle is only a few days so it is common to have a fungus gnat infestation with all 4 stages of life. Adult gnats will lay eggs on the sub surface of the soil mix or potting mix. These eggs hatch and the larvae come out to feed on the roots of your plant. From there the pupa emerges and continues to feed. Finally the adult comes out of the soil surface to mate and feed on soft plant tissue. How to Use Diatomaceous Earth to Kill Fungus Gnats Before we learn how to use food grade diatomaceous earth to kill fungus gnats we first need to understand that fungus gnats are little more pesky than common garden insects. Fungus gnats primarily cause damage to the root zone and root hairs of your plant, where organic matter is high. We want to kill fungus gnat larvae and the pupae. This solution also helps to combat adult fungus gnats as well before they can reach the top of the soil to lay eggs. Below we have provided instructions on how to combat fungus gnats indoors. Now, Lets get down to brass tax. Step 1: The very first thing to do when combating fungus gnats is clean up dead leaf material and also any standing water. Whether you have a tent and are growing plants or houseplants...chances are there is some standing water around. Fungus gnats are very common in plants that are overwatered. So before you think to dump a whole gallon of water on the plant, don't do it. Step 2: Gather 3% hydrogen peroxide, gloves, water, yellow sticky traps , and food grade de, diatomaceous earth . Step 3: Made a solution of 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts of water. Add 3 Tablespoons of Diatomaceous earth de to the solution. We want you to make this mixture with 2 cups of liquid. We are kind of killing two birds with one stone here. On one side the hydrogen peroxide will help to eliminate the fungi, mold, and moist environment in the soil. On the other hand you are adding diatomaceous earth to the soil. Diatomaceous earth helps to space out compacted soil and help the roots breathe better. When we kill the food source of the l arvae stage of the fungus gnat, they will be cutoff and die. When applying the solution, be sure to water slowly and just up to the point where you get runoff at the bottom of the pot. Step 4: Let the soil dry for a day and then sprinkle diatomaceous earth over the top layer of the soil. Doing this will kill any adult fungus gnats that want to emerge out of the soil. We want to be sure that if the hydrogen peroxide and diatomaceous earth drench did not get them all, the application of dry diatomaceous earth will ensure a total kill. Step 5: Lightly and just visibly, apply dry diatomaceous earth to the plant itself making sure to get the undersides and topsides of the leaves of the plant. You may Step 6: Apply the sticky traps to the area around your plant to catch any adult fungus gnats before they can mate. These come in handy. Make a mixture of 1 part food grade apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap to a bowl. Really you only need a couple inches inside the bowl. The fungus gnats we be attracted to the sugar mixture and fly into it. Once they do that, the ACV and dish soap will prevent them from moving properly and effectively killing them. Step 7: Repeat steps 1-6 until the problem has been solved. In most cases, a fungus gnat infestation is eliminated after a weeks worth of time. After a few days you will notice the population dwindling significantly. Results really depend on the severity of the infestation. The process may take a week longer if it is really bad. - Diatomaceous Earth For Boxelder Bugs | Earthworks Health
Discover the natural solution to boxelder bug infestations with diatomaceous earth. Learn how to use diatomaceous earth effectively for controlling boxelder bugs in and around your home. Say goodbye to pests without compromising on safety and explore the power of diatomaceous earth today Diatomaceous Earth For Boxelder Bugs Diatomaceous Earth (DE) has gained popularity as a versatile and effective solution for pest control, and one pest in particular that it has proven effective against is the boxelder bug (Boisea trivittata) and fall boxelder bugs. These small, reddish-brown insects are known to be a nuisance, especially in the fall when they seek shelter in homes, living spaces, and other structures. In this article, we will explore the characteristics of boxelder bugs, the challenges they pose, and how diatomaceous earth can be utilized as a natural and non-toxic and effective way to prevent them to get rid of boxelder bugs. Understanding Boxelder Bugs Boxelder bugs are common pests in North America, particularly in the western and eastern regions. They feed on boxelder trees (Acer negundo), but they can also be found on maple and ash trees in large groups. During the warmer months, boxelder bugs thrive outdoors, feeding on seeds, flowers, and other plant materials. However, as temperatures drop in the fall, they seek shelter in protected areas, often invading homes, sheds, and other structures in large numbers. Understanding the life cycle of the boxelder bug (Boisea trivittata) is crucial for effective pest control measures, including the use of diatomaceous earth. Boxelder bugs undergo a simple metamorphosis consisting of three stages: egg, nymph, and adult. Egg Stage: Boxelder bugs typically lay their eggs in early spring, often on the bark of female boxelder trees (Acer negundo), but they may also choose other suitable host trees like maple and ash. The eggs are small, barrel-shaped, and have a creamy to light yellow color. They are laid in clusters and are often found on the sunny side of the tree trunk or on nearby structures. Nymph Stage: Once the eggs hatch, the emerging nymphs go through several molts before reaching adulthood. There are five nymphal instars in total. Nymphs resemble adults in shape but are smaller and lack wings. They are initially red, turning more towards a darker shade as they molt and progress through the instars. During the nymphal stage, boxelder bugs primarily feed on the sap of host trees, developing and growing in size with each molt. Adult Stage: Boxelder bugs reach adulthood in late spring or early summer after completing their final molt. At this stage, they develop fully functional wings, enabling them to disperse over longer distances. Adult boxelder bugs are approximately half an inch in length and display distinctive reddish-brown coloring with narrow, elongated bodies. They have prominent wing veins, creating a unique X-shaped pattern on their backs. During the warmer months, adult boxelder bugs are attracted to the sap of host trees and other plants. However, as temperatures drop in the fall, they begin seeking shelter to overwinter. Overwintering: Overwintering is a crucial aspect of the boxelder bug life cycle. In the fall, adults gather in large numbers on the sunny sides of buildings, houses, and other structures, seeking sheltered locations to hibernate during the colder months. This behavior often leads to a large number of boxelder bugs in homes, as boxelder bugs find their way into cracks, crevices, and other entry points. They remain dormant during the winter, emerging when temperatures rise in the spring to resume their life cycle. Understanding the life cycle of boxelder bugs provides insight into the timing and patterns of their activities. By targeting specific stages of their development, such as the nymphal stage when they are most vulnerable, pest control methods like diatomaceous earth can be strategically applied to disrupt the life cycle and reduce infestation risks. Incorporating this knowledge into your pest management approach enhances the effectiveness of natural and non-toxic solutions like diatomaceous earth in controlling boxelder bugs. A Natural Solution to Boxelder Bug Infestations While boxelder bugs are generally harmless to humans and do not cause structural damage to buildings, their presence can be a significant annoyance. When they enter homes, they can stain surfaces with their excrement, emit a foul odor when crushed, and create an overall unpleasant living environment. Traditional chemical insecticides may be effective, but they come with their own set of concerns, including potential health risks for humans, pets, and the environment. Diatomaceous earth is a natural fine powder derived from the fossilized remains of microscopic aquatic organisms called diatoms. It is rich in silica and has a unique structure that makes it an effective insecticide. The sharp edges of diatomaceous earth particles are abrasive to the exoskeletons of insects, causing them to dehydrate and die. Unlike chemical pesticides, DE is non-toxic to humans and pets, making it a safer alternative for indoor use to prevent boxelder bugs. How to Apply Diatomaceous Earth For Boxelder Bugs To utilize diatomaceous earth for controlling boxelder bugs, follow these steps: Identify Infested Areas: Like with the stink bug, determine where boxelder bugs are entering your home or where they are congregating. Common entry points include windows, doors, and cracks in walls. Seal entry points from the outside and inside to help prevent them from entering your home. Apply Diatomaceous Earth: Sprinkle a thin layer of diatomaceous earth in the areas where boxelder bugs are present or along their likely paths of travel. Focus on entry points and areas with high insect activity. Reapply as Needed: DE is effective as long as it remains dry. Reapply after rain or if you notice the powder has been disturbed or removed. It's a good idea to reapply every few weeks during peak boxelder bug season. Use your vacuum cleaner and suck those dead bugs up! Please empty or dispose of the vacuum bag when done! Consider Outdoor Application: If boxelder bugs are a persistent problem outdoors, you can apply diatomaceous earth by mixing DE and soapy water in a spray bottle and apply directly to the surfaces of boxelder trees or areas where the bugs congregate. This can help reduce their numbers before they invade your home. What Diatomaceous Earth Do I Use to Kill Boxelder Bugs There are very few items that you really need to get the job done. You simply apply a visible application to the plants and/or ground to get rid of pest infestations. Try to find a few days of dry weather at least and leave it without disturbing it. I tend to do this 2-3 times a month during the growing cycle. This seems to control squash beetles and other crawling insects well for us here in Nebraska. While limiting harmful insects in your garden, be sure to avoid applying in excess as diatomaceous earth does not discriminate between pests and beneficial insects. We have a chemical free control method that is safe and effective at stopping the problem. On this page we will discuss lice in general and also talk about how to use one of the best natural products, diatomaceous earth for lice treatment. How to Identify Lice Adult lice are about the size and shape of a sesame seed, have six legs, two antenna, and are translucent or light to dark-reddish brown. Lice are easy to identify, you just need a little magnification beings they are so small. You’re most likely to find lice along the nape of the neck, the hairline, or around the ears. They do cling onto hair and will move away from light if exposed to it. Stuffed animals are a breeding ground for lice and be sure you check that area as well. What do Lice Bites Look & Feel Like? Lice can cause a few symptoms but is found a majority of the time around the neck, scalp, and ears. Most commonly, many with head lice will develop swollen, itchy, and painful cyst like bumps on the scalp, ears, or neck around the scalp. These cysts are caused by having an allergic reaction to Lice saliva. Some people and even pets will develop a red rash around the beck or ears. Some may experience a rash on the entire scalp. Be prepared to experience itching and irritated skin on the areas where lice are feeding. Lice Behavior & Life Cycle The life cycle of lice occur in three stages across a few weeks. They hatch from their eggs to become nymphs and then become adults. Doctors call head lice eggs nits. They are small, are 0.8 to 0.3 millimeters (mm) in size, and appear as oval- or teardrop-shaped eggs. Their color may range from white, yellow, tan, or brown, so they may be hard to see. Nits take 6–9 days to hatch. They need the warmth of the scalp for incubation, but if they become dislodged from the hair, they will most likely die before they hatch. Baby lice or larvae are called nymphs. They look like miniature adult lice, about the size of a pinhead, or 1.1–1.3 mm. They crawl to the scalp to feed on blood daily. Nymphs molt three times over the course of 10 days to finally become an adult louse. An adult louse develops from the third molt, and it is darker in color, ranging from tan to grayish-white to brown. They are around the size of a sesame seed, or 2–3 mm. Females are usually larger than males. They need to have blood meals several times a day and can live up to 30 days on a person’s head. However, a louse can only survive up to 2 days off the host and die from lack of food and optimal temperature. How to Apply Diatomaceous Earth to Kill Lice Whether it be you or your children that acquire head lice, its embarrassing and not fun to deal with lice. In comes diatomaceous earth! Diatomaceous earth de will kill head lice by dehydrating them to death. Just need a few supplies and a few days of time to get rid of them. Lets take a look at how to apply food grade diatomaceous earth to kill lice. Step 2 : Place 2-3 drops of tea tree oil in the 1 cup of diatomaceous earth, mix well and set aside. Step 3 : Use the t-shirt, cut some of the body off if you wish but not necessary. Place the t-shirt (now looks like a tube) on your head with the bottom seam (collar) on your forehead. Put on your gloves and grab a handful of diatomaceous earth. The open part of the shirt should expose the scalp and you will rub the diatomaceous earth all over the hair and down to the scalp as best as you can to coat the entire scalp and hair area. Get behind your ears and on the nape of your neck. Once applied, you will tie the open part of the shirt into a knot to seal your scalp. Tuck in any ends and you have what looks like a turban . It is ideal to leave the application on your scalp for 24 hours. Once the time is up, please remove the turban and wash your hair. Step 4 : Repeat steps 1-3 for 1 week (7 Days) or until the lice infestation is destroyed. Step 5 : Lice can live off a host for 2 days before dieing. It would be wise to apply a thin but visible application of diatomaceous earth on furniture and places where the infected have been sitting or sleeping. Leave application on those areas for 2 days and then clean with your vacuum. Be sure to treat all bedding, stuffed animals, clothes, etc in hot water in your washer and the highest heat setting for your dryer. Be sure to use a lice comb frequently everyday. This fix is permanent and would be a good time to take care of these small cosmetic glitches. It will keep the roaches out and that is what matters the most in this situation. Step 4: This is the step where you need to start applying de and if you have not finished cleaning your house to a sparkly shine, please do so before you apply. Areas with an even, light, and visible application needs to be applied to as follows… Behind baseboards, wall sockets (be sure to take the plates off, light switches (be sure to take the plates off), under appliances, under sinks, cracks or crevices, wall voids, and where food is commonly dropped and forgotten about. Step 5: Lightly dust Diatomaceous Earth around the outside foundation of your home. Be sure to go out at least 1 foot from the start of your foundation to ensure proper protection from these bugs and other crawling insects as well. Whether you live in a dry or damp area this is an important step in making sure the roaches come into contact with it before they have a chance to enter the home. Reapply and keep applied for 1 month just being sure the product is applied in a light, even, and visible fashion. Step 6 (Optional): A crawl space can be a breeding ground for roaches (limited human contact) and needs to be treated as well. Take 3-5lbs of Diatomaceous Earth and pile it near the entrance. Using a leaf blower or similar machine, point at the pile and blow the powder into the crawlspace. Keep there as long as it is dry. Reapply when not visible. How Long Does it Take to Kill a Cockroach Infestation with Diatomaceous Earth? Every single case of a cockroach infestation is different. The length of time to kill the infestation really depends on the severity of the infestation. If you have an out of control infestation that has been going on for years, expect to take longer. The average time of diatomaceous earth application needed to kill the infestations is between 2-4 weeks. We base this time frame off of customer feedback and trial and error. Once an insect comes into contact with Diatomaceous Earth, it gets stuck on their exoskeleton. As they move, it starts to scratch away at that coating. How to Identify a Mite Mites are very similar in appearance to ticks but much smaller, mites have round or tic-tac shaped bodies. Believe it or not mites are classified as arachnids. Mites have eight legs. Their size varies but most mites are usually invisible to the naked eye. The largest mites measure about 6 mm long, while the smallest are about 0.1 mm. The color of mites is all over the spectrum; most mites appear tan, brown, or reddish-brown, but some are bright red, blue, or green in color Mite Behavior & Life Cycle There are two common types of mites that affect humans and animals alike. One is the Demodex canis (demodex mite) and the other is the Sarcoptes scabiei (scabies mite). The demodex mite causes a skin irritation called demodectic mange and the scabies mite causes a skin condition which we are familiar with called scabies. Primarily, the demodex mite doesn't cause too many problems in humans or animals unless we are young, have a suppressed immune system, or are on medications that suppress the immune system. Scabies mites are more worrisome as they are contagious and can live in your household infecting other animals and people in the environment. After fertilization, female mites can lay 2 to 3 eggs under the skin a day. The eggs layed are not visible to the human eye but they are there. Once hatched the mite becomes a larvae and they burrow into the skin and remain there for 3 to 4 days before molting into a nymph. These nymphs are found under the skin and even on hair folicles. Again being too small to see with the naked eye. Once past the nymph stage, they become adults and will remain burrowed in the skin, feeding, until a male can find a moulting pouch on the skin to fertilize. How to Apply Diatomaceous Earth to Kill Mites Adding diatomaceous earth or DE to control and eliminate mites is an effective and natural solution. Diatomaceous earth is a fine powder made from fossilized diatoms, and it works by dehydrating and disrupting the exoskeleton of insects, including mites and lice. Remem ber, diatomaceous earth is a mechanical insecticide and takes time to work. It's a non-toxic alternative, but proper application and patience are key to its success in controlling mites. Mites can cause crusted scabies scabs on humans and animals. Use diatomaceous earth to kill scabies mites so you don't have to treat scabies infestations on your animals and you. Along with scabies mites have the ability in some locations and instances to cause internal parasites, worms, and bacteria problems, especially for small and young animals and very young children. If you are wondering how to get rid of mites on chickens, check out our diatomaceous earth for chickens blog post. Indoor Application Instructions Step 1: Clean pet areas like bedding, around food dishes, and any kennels or again bedding. Be sure wash thoroughly and replace any straw or hay they may have used if they have an outdoor dog house. For cats, you want to make sure the food dishes and around them are cleaned. The cat box is another breeding ground for mites so be sure to clean the litter often and apply a small amount of this product in and around the box to help prevent further spread of the infestation. Don't forget to apply to cracks and crevices around those areas as well! Step 2: Wearing gloves and a dust mask, apply the product in a light and even fashion to all locations stated in Step 1 of the instructions. Be sure to give it 5 days before cleaning and reapplying for another 5 days. This is long enough to see a dramatic reduction in population of the mite. A mask when applying diatomaceous earth is a safe practice. Step 3: Most importantly is to get this product on your pet to help kill off the already embedded mites. Mites will burrow under the skin and feed on it causing a rash or redness called mange. Take a look at the mange rash on a dog quick. This is what will happen to them if we do not kill them. From mange, comes skin infections and rounds of steroids and antibiotics. So before this happens please apply the powder onto the fur coat of the animal, being sure not to miss a spot other than the face and eyes. Be sure the application is visible and then rub that down to the skin, even the infected mange skin. When the mite surfaces, they will come into the application and because DE absorbs moisture so well, they will be dehydrated to death. Step 4: (Optional) After you get rid of these nasty mites be sure to keep a light and visible application on bedding, cat boxes, kennels, and the grounds in which they love to play on, outside.
